Community Connect Foundation: Winter Spectacular Games and Arts
Based on valuable feedback from our parent and young person surveys, we have carefully designed the Winter Holiday Activities to be incredibly rewarding, engaging, and fun.
We know that keeping children active during the winter break is key. Our programme features a wide range of stimulating physical activities. These include classic Active Games & Sports like dodgeball, badminton, table tennis, skipping, and sparring, along with using indoor cycling machines and musical chairs. Every session prioritises safety, starting with a Warm-Up Focus of essential gentle stretches and muscle movement exercises. Additionally, we’ve introduced ‘Active Mind’ Challenges such as indoor orienteering, ropes courses, and guided Lego building. These physically engaging tasks simultaneously promote problem-solving, teamwork, and creative skills development.
You told us your children want to build resilience and character, and we’ve listened. We are incorporating diverse experiences aimed at nurturing crucial life skills like self-belief, empathy, and problem-solving. Diverse Experiences will include team sports, arts and crafts, mindfulness exercises, and opportunities for community projects, such as volunteering.
The holiday season is perfect for creative educational enrichment, all wrapped up in festive fun. Our Christmas Creativity involves team-working activities like making Christmas-themed cards, creating tinsels and decorations, and other seasonal projects. These engaging tasks are specifically designed for Building Confidence, encouraging young people to step outside their comfort zones and experience the satisfaction of overcoming challenges.
We are committed to promoting holistic well-being throughout the HAF programme. Our Well-being Focus actively promotes the importance of staying physically active and looking after mental health. We also encourage Goal Setting, where children explore personal growth and learning by setting and working towards new achievements.
This is a glimpse of the enriching experiences we have planned. We will also organise other seasonal-themed activities to reflect the festive season, such as baking scones and pies and putting up decorations.
