Forge Mill Farm – Easter Eggstravaganza – Fun
Activities for Ages 8–11, SEND Groups, and Family Sessions
Children and families will head into the forest for an exciting outdoor adventure. Working in teams, they will collect natural materials on their journey to our outdoor classroom. Once there, they will learn how to build mini rafts and take on the challenge of creating a raft that can float.
After completing their designs, the group will continue their forest walk to the River Tame. Here, our Education Outdoors Team will launch the rafts into the water to test how well they float. Children will have the chance to follow their rafts along the riverbank to the first bend, adding a sense of exploration and achievement.
Activities for Ages 11–16
Our Encounter Farming session offers young people a hands‑on introduction to what its like to be one of our farmers. Participants will join our farm team for the day and learn how we care for our animals by supporting the “Five Freedoms”:
Freedom to express natural behaviours
Young people will help with real farming tasks such as cleaning and bedding animal housing, preparing appropriate feed, and providing positive social interaction with the animals. This immersive experience builds confidence, responsibility, and practical skills while giving a meaningful insight into animal care and farm life.
