The Frank Chapman Outdoor Education Centre, just outside the charming Georgian town of Bewdley, is nestled in 90 acres of ancient oak forest.
Coach provided free of charge if required from Oldbury for your convenience.
Whether joining us for Archery, Family Team Challenges, Bush craft, Geocaching, or Climbing, each day is designed to provide a fun, engaging, and creative experience. These activities offer children, young people, and their grown-ups the chance to explore, discover, and enjoy quality time together.
Our days are designed to entertain and engage kids and parents alike, giving your family a chance to bond, explore, and create lifelong memories together. Adventure, discovery, and maybe even a bit of mud — it’s all waiting for you!
Day 1
23rd April
- Family Bushcraft & Geocaching
- 10:30 to 15:00
- Unleash your family’s adventurers with a fun-filled day of bushcraft and geocaching! Whether you’re building shelters in the woods or learning the secrets of fire-making, our bushcraft activities will spark creativity, teamwork, and a love for nature. Then, grab a GPS device and embark on an exciting geocaching treasure hunt through the forest — can you find all the hidden treasures?
Day 2

- Family High Ropes Challenge Course (age 8+)
- 10:30 to 15:00
- Ready to take family fun to new heights? Join us for an unforgettable day on our high ropes challenge course! With exciting elements like the ‘Crate Stack’ and the thrilling ‘High All Aboard’ tower, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re a daring climber or prefer a more gentle adventure, our course is fully adaptable to ensure every participant feels challenged at the perfect level.
- We even have an adaptable hoist system, allowing climbers to ascend with assistance or fully supported — so everyone can experience the excitement of reaching the top. This is more than just a day out; it’s a chance to build confidence, strengthen bonds, and create memories you will treasure forever!

Sandwell Residential Education Service is proud to be part of Sandwell Council. It exists to provide lifelong learning opportunities for the children and families of Sandwell – many of whom have visited our four centres for generations.
The Frank Chapman Centre is located in the Georgian town of Bewdley, it is set in 90 acres of beautiful ancient oak forest, creating an adventurous setting for exploring and learning in the outdoors.
