The Albion Foundation – Summer multi sports camps – Sandwell Academy
We have a track record of delivering high quality, engaging physical activity camps. We provide multi sports sessions, and we use the power of football and the WBA brand to inspire and engage the participants. Having delivered HAF for the past 3 years, we have been able to grow and develop our sessions from constant feedback from young people and parents/families involved. We now offer bespoke sports activities, healthy food workshops and good quality food from our food providers health kitchen. We have many target outcomes of our HAF activities which we know we achieve through participant and parent surveys.
Outcomes we achieve include participants improving in both their physical and mental wellbeing, participants developing their skills or knowledge, participants showing increased confidence or self esteem both short term and after longer periods of working with The Albion Foundation. We also often aim for participants to enjoy taking part in football and sport and to hopefully continue to engage in those sports away from HAF delivery.

What makes this activity unique?
The Albion Foundation are pleased to invite the local community to our Holiday, Activities & Food Camps in partnership with Sandwell Council. They will have the opportunity to keep active and improve both their physical and mental wellbeing. Our multi sports offer includes mentors on our sessions to really help engage and support young people on our programme to have a positive experience. We often include player appearances and academy player appearances to share insight and inspiration on how important healthy lifestyles are in order to achieve your potential and to share their life experiences with the young people on our camp.
-
What activities are offered?
A general camp day will consist of a variety of sports including basketball, football, cricket, team games, dodgeball, hockey and much more! Plus additional activities suited towards younger participants like darts, archery and bowls.

What benefits can you expect from this?
We have had great feedback from parents and carers on the importance of our HAF camps for their young people with many commenting on how their children’s mental wellbeing has improved significantly.
We are able to offer exciting sports that children may not have taken part in previously! We also provide a special lunch for the young people at The Hawthorns as a special treat.
What They Say About Us
This programme helped my boys socialise with other children, not from their class or school, with their medical needs. They were included and not singled out and any fears they have of having the medical needs were not there for them. They enjoyed all 4 days they attended and the activities that took place. Cannot wait for another set of these programmes for the next holidays.’
Cannot fault the work of The Albion Foundation. My child has progressed in confidence by miles because of them. This is a place he is accepted for who he is, no questions asked, and has made real friendships and rocketed in confidence and ability. We couldn’t do without it. I’ve never seen my own child set his own alarms in the holidays for anything before!
The boys loved going they looked forward to it every day. The boys loved it when some Albion players came to the session my boys had there bottles signed had pictures taken with them I am so grateful they experienced this as normally you would have to pay for something like that and not everyone can afford it you made a magical memory that they will keep forever. I want to thank the staff for all there hard work it is appreciated if it wasn’t for you guys people who don’t have money to take there kids out everyday would be stuck at home and have limited things to do .but with the Albion foundation they were out interacting with others making friends and memories.so I will say this thank you so much for your time and hard work keep it up
