What activities are on offer?
We will offer a diverse range of activities to engage and inspire young people, including hobby crafts, exercise sessions, arts and crafts, creating cards and decorations, and playing games like musical chairs. Physical activities will feature indoor dodgeball, table tennis, exercise workshops, and other fun fitness challenges.
Our programme will also include issue-focused and target-based workshops, alongside interactive sessions designed to develop skills, build confidence, and provide mentoring and advisory services. These will support young people transitioning from secondary school to further education or apprenticeship opportunities. In addition to creative and physical activities, we’ll incorporate sessions around nutrition, including preparing and enjoying a variety of healthy snacks and planning weekly meals. These sessions aim to build practical skills and encourage healthier eating habits.
Club activities will also address key topics such as mental health, bullying, crime, stress, and online safety. Through discussions and engagement, young people will gain valuable insights while participating in hobby crafts, model-making, multi-sports, and other group interactions.
Our activities will challenge attendees to solve problems independently and collaboratively, promoting critical thinking, teamwork, and social bonding. Every young person will feel included, encouraged to make new friends, and develop their social skills in a supportive environment.
We aim to empower young people to build resilience, strengthen their character, and enjoy personal growth during the programme. Rewards and treats will incentivise participation, ensuring consistent attendance and engagement. To assess the programme’s impact, we’ll collect feedback after each session to understand how participants have improved in areas such as nutrition, food budgeting, and personal development over the holiday period. -
What benefits can you expect from this?
We want to offer as many opportunities as possible to the young people, therefore creating an impact and noticing a difference in a young person’s character and skills ability. We want to see young people engage in fun and interactive activities, as its the holiday period, instead of young people sitting at home, we want them to stay active, eat well and be social and engage with their peers, build on their social and character development skills. Our centre is ideally situated to create that environment as we have trained staff and centre provision with all the youth club resources for young people to use and learn whilst having fun and rewarding time at our centre. Our enrichment activities include physical as well as education allowing young people to extend on their capacity and broaden their understanding and knowledge. We want young people to eat well stay fit and healthy, and exercise their mind as well as their body. We will promote healthy eating foods and drinks at the club, create a culturally inclusive food and drink environment. Create positive eating habits. These activities are excellent ways for young people to develop an appreciation for a variety of foods. We will provide a number of issue and target based workshops, provide mentoring sessions and life coaching sessions for young people moving on from primary age to secondary age to young adulthood.
