What makes this activity inclusive?
Sandwell Young Carers works to ensure that our services are accessible to all young carers and their families.
We provide an all inclusive provision that enables young carers to participate in all of our support and activities. Young carers are accessed and risk assessments put in place to ensure that we can meet everyone’s needs. Staff take part in inductions and ongoing training to ensure we have the skills and abilities to provide a welcoming and all inclusive provision. We also work with our young carers to ensure they too have an understanding of such and therefore prevent anyone feeling excluded. Please contact the provider for more information.
What They Say About Us
”I know my son always feels wanted and safe at carers and really looks forward to his sessions, always talking about playing pool and talking to his friends. I have never felt I belong anywhere in my life and being stuck in bed all the time means I don’t have any friends until I managed to get to one of your parent days it was so much fun and I cannot wait for the next one.”
”100% trust everyone at carers and he loves coming to see everyone. When he has issues at school he knows he can trust and talk to staff and I can really never thank you all enough for the support and kindness you have given him. From the shy little boy who self harmed to the wonderful happy teenager who now has friends and stands up for himself, I am forever grateful for everything you have done for all of us.”
”Staff are very friendly, listen , signpost and support. Very organised with planned activities my child looks forward too.”
”You give them freedom, time to be themselves and not just a carer or a child who has to be stuck indoors because 1 or both parents can’t get out”
”SYC created a safe space for us all, the big 2 for short breaks and myself for parent coffee morning”
”Staff are very warm, welcoming with smiles, make young carer feel so special individually”
