SITC Winter HAF Fun – Oxford Road

We will be providing a minimum of 1 hour per day of fun and engaging physical activity during our HAF provision.

Physical activities will primarily be delivered at the local Lewisham Park. We will offer a variety of options daily, delivered by qualified coaches, allowing children to choose activities that suit their interests.

Activities will include:

  • Cycling and Learn-to-Ride Sessions: (Weather permitting) Bikes and helmets will be provided for these sessions.
  • Team Sports & Fitness: Boxing, Football, and Basketball.
  • Fun Games: Capture the Flag, Tag, mini sport races (such as egg and spoon races, sack races), and access to the park’s play equipment.
  • Indoor Fitness: We have a Nintendo Wii Fitness system, providing children with an indoor option for fitness and sports games.

Our enrichment activities are designed to be engaging experiences that support the development of resilience, character, wellbeing, and wider educational attainment. These activities help children build confidence, social skills, and a love of learning.

Available activities will include:

  • Arts and Crafts: Including model making/painting, utilising recyclable and natural materials (twigs, leaves, conkers, cardboard, newspaper, bottles, etc.).
  • Games: Dominoes, board games, Connect 4, and Snooker.
  • Healthy Cooking Activities: Hands-on sessions making items such as fruit kebabs, healthy noodles, flapjacks, healthy cupcakes and cookies, and fruit granola yogurts.
  • External Visits: We will host visits from external agencies, such as Healthy Sandwell and Digbeth Dining Club, to deliver cooking sessions and speak about healthy eating and the importance of balanced diets.
